How much and how long?
It depends. The process to get FedRAMP certification varies based on the complexity of the software, employee access to data, location of hosting, location of developers, security level, overall FedRAMP strategy and more.
Additionally - how much of the work are you going to do for yourself. Our advisory can act in support of your efforts all the way to managing the entire process on your behalf.
While pricing varies - expect to spend $300k to $800k in the first year for both internal and external resources combined. The process takes about 6 months to 14 months - it depends on vulnerabilities, Government reviews, and the speed of getting FedRAMP "Ready" status. The FedRAMP process is being reorganized to try to reduce this burden - however we think it is best to be more conservative in estimates. After the first year, cloud service providers would need to do continuous monitoring and reporting. As well as a year 2 and year 3 additional assessment.
While this may seem expensive and intensive - this rigorous process is exceptional at discovering existing vulnerabilities. Having FedRAMP certification will help your software stand out as secure among your competitors and open up access to U.S. Government marketplace - largest buyer in the world.

Shaun Edens
Shaun is the CEO of Lucky Rabbit - a Digital Services consultancy. An accomplished thought leader with over two decades of experience in the U.S. Government, showcasing a robust portfolio in strategic planning, project management, and business process optimization. His expertise extends to marketing strategy, branding, and customer service excellence. With a strong foundation in technical competencies, Shaun has a proven track record in software development methodologies, system modernization, and enterprise architecture.
His career highlights include roles as a Full-Stack Developer, AI Architect, and executive positions at Booz Allen Hamilton, TechFlow, and Cybermedia Technologies (CTEC).
An alumnus of the University of Illinois, he holds an MBA with a concentration in finance, marketing, and management information systems, complemented by a Computer Science degree from Morehouse College.
Since 2005, Shaun has secured over $982 million in contracts, leading IT, marketing, and sales teams of up to 200 professionals.
As a philanthropist, he co-founded the Feed 100,000 Kids Project.

Colleen Godbout
Colleen is the COO of Lucky Rabbit - a Digital Services consultancy. An accomplished digital solutions professional interested in the intersection of product management, digital services, and public sector delivery in the 21st century. Using modern methodologies and emerging technologies to improve digital service delivery by transitioning from a factory-based model to a human-centered model. Colleen coordinates and manages the FedRAMP and Business Development Services - bringing in the proper SMEs for our clients.
She has a strong business administration background with a focus on U.S. Federal Government contract management, Federal billing, Federal compliance, and accounting systems.
She received her MBA from George Mason University with a concentration of Marketing and Management. She has a BA in Communications from George Mason University.
Colleen manages innovation focused Business Development opportunities on behalf of Lucky Rabbit.
As a philanthropist, she co-founded the Delaware Coastal Society.
Executive - Senior Advisor
Greg Godbout
Greg Godbout is the CEO of Flamelit - a start-up Data Science and AI/ML consultancy. He was the former Chief Growth Officer at Fearless (a U.S. Government Contractor) - growing Fearless from $25M a year to $100M a year in just 4 years. Formally the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and U.S. Digital Services Lead at the EPA. Greg was the first Executive Director and Co-Founder of 18F, a 2013 Presidential Innovation Fellow, Day One Accelerator Fellow, and a The Federal 100 and Fedscoop 50 award recipient.
His technical career highlights include roles as a Digital Services Transformation, Data Analyst, Full-Stack Developer, Database Engineer, and Program Manager.
An alumnus of St. Mary's College of MD, he received a Masters in Management of IT from the University of Virginia, and is currently working on a Masters in Business Analytics from NYU.
Since 2017, Greg has worked on or led business development teams that have secured over $1.1B million in contracts for Federal Government contracts.
As a philanthropist, he co-founded the Delaware Coastal Society.
